2016 USA Tour Schedule

We are happy to announce -- From Feb 28 to March 10, 2016, Phakchok Rinpoche will teach in the USA.

He will visit New York, Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts and Georgia. Notably, Rinpoche will be giving talks at Michigan State University, Harvard University, Antioch College, Emory University and the University of West Georgia.

As the summer approaches we are getting close to our first month long summer retreat, with teachings and practice at Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Cooperstown together with Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche, lamas and sangha. This is a time to be able to spend time practicing with Rinpoche and sangha and receive further teachings and guidance in our practice or learn how to practice the dharma and establish a daily practice.

We are trying our best over here in Nepal. Thank you all so much for your support. On this Guru Rinpoche day I would like to remind you of a few things. Through the earthquake relief efforts we have been undertaking for the last month, I realized that compassion as a mental state and compassion as physical action are quite different.

As you all know, on Saturday Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake that took the lives of thousands of people and has left many tens of thousands of others destitute, vulnerable, and filled with fear. Fortunately, our community of monks, nuns, and students are safe and our monasteries relatively undamaged. Many other areas though have suffered overwhelming loss and destruction. Empowerments at Shechen Monastery, Kathmandu

From April 14th until approximately April 30th Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche, together with hundreds of other lamas, monks, nuns, ngakpas and lay people, is attending the empowerments for the terma cycle of Terchen Ratna Lingpa at Shechen monastery in Boudhanath, Nepal.

Introducing the Samye Learning Platform

On Dakini Day, 14th April 2015 a new platform for Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche's Dharma teachings and global sangha interaction was launched at samyedharma.org. 

Approaching Tibetan New Year 2015

Each year as we approach the Tibetan New Year, our community in Kathmandu Nepal led by our Rinpoches commence a series of important practices to usher in the new year and clear away the negativities of the past. Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche will be presiding over these profound vajrayana ritual practices as vajra master and all are welcome to attend. Please see below for details.

Tricycle Retreat: Mental Strength in the 21st Century

Tricycle Magazine has prepared a pre-filmed online course with Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche entitled, Mental Strength in the 21st Century. During this course Rinpoche will explain the value of a spiritual path such as the dharma in modern life as well as how to implement effective and practical ways to transform our daily experiences into a path of greater contentment, compassion, and inner strength. These teachings are suitable for non-buddhists and buddhists alike.

Lhabab Duchen Message

Dear Friends, For this Lhabab Duchen, I am very happy to share with you these two videos featuring our compassionate acts of service for laypeople and for dharma in Nepal. One of the videos features our Vajravarahi Healthcare Clinic, and the other features our neighboring Vajravarahi Monastery. The Vajravarahi Clinic has averaged 10,000 treatments per year over the past six years and offers many different types of traditional medical treatment at little to no cost. The Vajravarahi Monastery serves as the training grounds for the education of our young monks in a traditional and non-sectarian fashion that is equipping them with the knowledge and experience to they will use benefit their own villages in Nepal as well as Buddhist practitioners around the world.

Gomde Cooperstown 2014

Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche guided 10 days of teachings and meditation at his North American seat of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Cooperstown in Central New York State in August during Rinpoche’s tour of the Northeast.
