Akara

Buddhist practice is not just about meditation, prayer or ceremony. It is equally about the way we live our daily lives, how we interact with the world, and how we treat other beings.

Akara means “mine of jewels” in Pali, one of the earliest known languages in which the Buddha’s teachings were written. Each item we create or select supports Dharma practice or simply speaks to the beauty of life in the land of the Buddha.

We are dedicated to supporting charitable activities and development projects, benefiting people in need and supporting craftspeople through fair trade.

We maintain our original vision to create genuine products to benefit beings. How do we do this? We produce items according to authentic traditions, supporting both spiritual practitioners and spiritual seekers. We help dedicated craftspeople striving to preserve their culture to make a fair living, and support humanitarian and development projects; thus generating merit for the buyer!
